"Blond children never cry, do they?"

This is an exquisite gem of a book exploring the stories that people tell about each other. Having read this book, by happenstance, in the days following the Boston Marathon Bombing, I am particularly stricken by this plea for people of the East and the West to learn each other's stories. To know one another in a strictly political sense is dangerous. "All catastrophes concern the entire world." This book is "pro" nobody. It is an introduction to the threshold, the zone of ambiguity, a very good place to think.
