About the Author
Monique Ferrell is a poet and fiction writer. She is the author of three books of poetry: Attraversiamo (NYQ Books, 2016), UNSTEADY (NYQ Books, 2011), and Black Body Parts (Cross+Roads Press, 2002). Her writing has appeared in American Poetry Review, North American Review, Antioch Review, Cimarron Review, and New York Quarterly, among other creative writing journals, as well as the anthologies Token Entry, Out of the Rough, The Place Where We Dwell, and RABBIT EARS: TV POEMS (NYQ Books, 2015). Beyond her creative writing pursuits, Ferrell is co- founder of 2 Bridges Review, co-editor of the feminist criticism text Looking for the Enemy: The Eternal Internal Gender Wars of Our Sisters, and author of a myriad of scholarly publications on writing, race, gender equality, and pop culture issues including the forthcoming book The Seduction Deduction: Erotica, Intellect, and God- like Transformation in Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson. Currently, she is a Professor of English and teaches Literature, Gender & Sexuality Studies, and Composition in New York City.

About the Author

Willem Koomen has been affiliated with the Department of Social Psychology of the University of Amsterdam since 1963. His research interests include social cognition, and particularly stereotyping and stigmatization.

Joop van der Pligt was a professor in social psychology at the University of Amsterdam. His research interests pertained to attitudes, perceived risk and affect in relation to decision making. He died in 2015, when this book was almost completed.

Der Gegensatz einer „Sklavenmoral“ und einer „Herrenmoral“ aus der ersten Abhandlung ist, zumindest schlagwortartig, recht bekannt geworden. Die dritte Abhandlung, in der Nietzsche die asketischen Ideale einer ausführlichen Kritik unterzieht, ist grundlegend für das Verständnis aller seiner Spätschriften. Friedrich Nietzsche wurde am 15.10.1844 in Röcken bei Lützen geboren. Er stammt väterlicher- und mütterlicherseits von Pastoren ab. Er studierte von 1864-1865 klassische Philologie in Bonn und Leipzig. Mit 25 Jahren wurde er außerordentlicher Professor der klassischen Philologie in Basel. Nietzsche kam 1876 wegen eines Nerven- und Augenleidens vorübergehend und 1879 endgültig in den Ruhestand. 1889 brach seine Geisteskrankheit vollends aus, er kam in die Irrenanstalt in Basel. Er lebte seit 1897 in Weimar (in geistiger Umnachtung), wo er am 25.08.1900 starb.

As Good As FINRA Guides

I bought this after the FINRA guides were making my eyes bleed and the Kaplan book on the S7 wasn't much of an improvement. I like how they break down the themes and then test you on them again and again, especially with mathematical calculations; an important part of the S7. But the best thing about these guides is the series of sample tests they have at the back of the book. Not just one per unit, but two or three. This is extremely helpful. With Finra and Kaplan, you end up learning the sample tests because there is just one per unit. Then you take the sample tests again and start mastering them, giving you a false sense of confidence in the material. What's happening is you are memorizing the questions and the multiple choices. But there are dozens of ways to ask the same question, and even more multiple choice options to use as well. Empire gives just enough extra sample exams, and one massive 250 question exam, to give you a better sense of mastery. I failed all the samples in Empire by a few points (70, 67, grades like that) and passed the S7.

Addressing an obscure era in our native theater, McConachie (theater, Coll. of William and Mary) offers a Marxist critique of mid-19th century American society. Theater reflected dominant political and social attitudes of the period, he argues, and its audience changed over time. An elite, paternalistic, and mostly masculine group patronized fairy tale melodramas; then heroic and apocalyptic theater attracted a mixed class of spectators; finally, a family audience, including women for the first time, came to see moralistic dramas. Strong on social and textual criticism, McConachie's analysis nevertheless fails to bring the age alive. This is an important academic study--not much work has been done on the period--but it needs a scholar with imagination and storytelling power to re-create this tumultuous time. Recommended for professionals only.
