Happy Customer!

Received my book, very pleased with the quality as it was promised to be new and new it is.

My recommendation to the sender would be to protect the corners before packaging, in the handling process the top right corner received a slight tear on the jacket and slightly creased some of the books pages, sometimes things in life happen! I can live with it, would have preferred it did not occur.

Overall, I would recommend the vendor and would order other items in the future.

Looking forward to enjoying the book!

A good basic book

This book gives a good introduction to the concept of the Divine Proportion. The last reviewer seems irritated because this was not the advanced book he expected, but that doesn't diminish the quality of the book.

This book is perfect for those who are curious about the Divine Proportion and how it has been used through the ages. The design and illustrations are delightful.

Nice design, no depth

Anyone who has taken a few serious art, architecture, or mathematics classes has at least heard about this magical number, the divine proportion, which has existed as theory in various forms for centuries. I had purchased this book in hopes of learning more about how artists and mathematicians had used this number over time, and especially how it relates to aesthetics in fine art and in nature. I was decidedly underwhelmed.

While the book is nicely designed and the pages are pretty, there is very little depth in the actual text. Most of the images are there to simply fill space; they are not used in any way to illustrate the point the author is supposedly trying to make. Most of the text of the book is actually spent in providing brief, Cliff Notes-like biographies of the people who used the divine proportion. The author spends very little time explaining the actual use of the number, which just makes her argument seem weak and the book seem like a farce. While I am still convinced that the divine proportion and the Fibonacci sequence have importance in mathematical, scientific, and aesthetic theory, this book did nothing to strengthen that conviction. All it did, in fact, was infuriate me by not providing the information I was searching for.

She has created more than 2000 recipes using Maggi and Nestle products for magazines, pamphlets, newspapers, websites and brochures, She has also conducted more than 500 cooking demonstrations throughout Malaysia and Singapore. Among the cooking demonstrations conducted were with organizations such as Puspanita, TALENT, Tenaganita and for workshops with Jelita, Wanita, Saji and Her World. She has been involved in shows with Chef Wan during the tour of Nestle Happy Home Project. Among other achievements, she has developed more than 50 new products of Maggi. She was a judge to the Maggi program Star Search, commercial for Happy Fun Raya programmes, Nestle Cornflakes, Uli-uli Day Nestum and Yen & Maggi Can Cook on RTM 2. Recently, she has introduced recipes together with a company focused on Nutrition, Health and Wellness.

interesting, but...

This book has a lot of excellent "how to" info on making Sarawak layer cakes. This is a lost art in the cake world, all but forgotten in the United States. I'm giving this review three stars for two reasons: first, there are specialty baking equipment essential to this form of detailing with NO information on where to purchase these items. Things like L-shaped cutters, baking trays with corrugated ridges, zigzag molds, etc. An internet search has turned up nothing as of yet either. The second reason for a three star review is the baking ingredients used. What on Earth is Hong Kong flour and where can we get it? Ovalette? Never heard of it. There is no adaptation given -- for example she could have said "the batter will be thick" - thus telling us a pound cake batter would be better for this recipe. There's nothing like that. So while I do enjoy the book, it's going to be interesting trying to improvise the items used to make a true Sarawak layer cake.

Finally! Relief from constant anxiety and more......

Dennis and Dr. Jen teach simple truths that are amazingly effective, once put into action. The best part is that it's all explained in a manner which even a child can listen to, then know what to do in order to put the concepts into practice!
I began working on my issues as a 10yr old, from counselors and shrinks, to MDs (for meds to try to control anxiety and depression, to many types of healing ministries, deliverance ministry, digging into the Bible, and facing / dealing with my "stuff", but had never found anything that worked - beyond the temporary. I had always tried to connect with God, and wondered why after all these years, I still had so many of the old issues in my heart, and after so much seeking God, I still felt like He was a million miles away. Everything in this book is truth that I've applied daily for the past 3wks, and not only have I seen a reduction in stress and anxiety, but I actually am able to connect with God and feel His Presence in me! Sometimes when praying through issues, as outlined in the book, I laugh out loud because this is the key I've been searching for my entire life, and it's allowing Jesus to free me.....finally!!

The revelation contained in this book is indeed a treasure. I have been a Christian for many, many years, was in ministry, knew the scriptures and yet with all the knowledge I had I found I was still struggling with emotional issues and patterns in my life I could not break. The information in this book is not a method it's the normal Christian life but it has significant how to's to demystify a walk in the spirit.

Life Changing!

I never thought that I could actually be free from shame, guilt and fear and experience true lasting peace. After practicing the principles taught by the Clarks I am enjoying my relationship with Jesus without shame and fear. One of the things I love about this book is the simplicity. I was able to get rid of so many things that robbed me of joy in my relationship with God. It is such a relief to be free from the things I thought I would be stuck with. I practice the things taught in this book almost every day and it has changed my life. AMAZING, AMAZING, AMAZING! Words cannot express how grateful I am to the Clarks for sharing these treasures with me!

Neuroscience was bom in the 19'~ century with the works of Paul Brocca. However, this fledgling field experienced a boom only in recent times, following the development of powerful non-invasive techniques for probing the neural circuitry supporting the complex cognitive functions of the human brain. Although sophisticated mathematical models and phy- cal theories are the basic tools behind the conceptual foundations and a- lytical implementation of these modem techniques, to the best of our knowledge no effort was made to formalize the actual knowledge about brain function into a coherent theoretical framework incorporating the - cent developments in mathematical and physical science. Addressing this lack was our first motivation in writing this book.

Without family and without a word of English, he escaped to England. Later, cruelly, he was interned as an enemy alien during the war, and sent to Canada. During his time in the Canadian camp, he virtually taught himself architecture, and once the war was over, he studied in Canada and at Harvard in the United States. His parents moved to Australia after the war, and in 1948, Harry came to Australia in response to their invitation. The house he designed for them, now known as the Rose Seidler House, represented a huge shift in Australian modern domestic architecture. It was soon followed by a succession of innovative house designs and ambitious, towering office blocks such as Australia Square and the MLC Centre, which changed forever the skyline of Australia's cities. Without Harry Seidler, our cities and homes would look very, very different.
